The AIFC Green Finance Centre (AIFC GFC) became an official GGKP Knowledge Partner in Green Growth Knowledge Partnership for the Green Finance Platform.
The GGKP is a global network of experts and organisations dedicated to providing the policy, business, and finance communities with cutting edge knowledge, guidance, data, and tools to transition to an inclusive green economy through its three knowledge platforms - the Green Growth Knowledge Platform, the Green Industry Platform, and the Green Finance Platform.
As a Knowledge Partner of the Green Finance Platform, the AIFC Green Finance Centre joins a network of organisations committed to sharing their knowledge and insights as well as fostering a green finance community of practice through contributions to the online platform and other collaborative network activities.

AIFC GFC has been working on the development of green finance and green bond market in Kazakhstan and in the region by creating a regulatory framework and introducing legislative standards for the formation of a green financial system of Kazakhstan. AIFC GFC also provides consulting support for green bond issuers on AIX platform, conducts research in the field of green finance, raises awareness and builds capacity among business circles through trainings and a new platform - the annual Green Growth Forum.

In December 2015, the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, signed the Constitutional Law on the establishment of the International Financial Centre Astana (AIFC). The purpose of AIFC is the formation of a leading centre of financial services on international level. For the first time in the post-Soviet space, the principles of English law will be introduced, the official language of the financial centre will be English.
